The final conference of the Parent Engagement Research Project (PEAR EC) took place on the 5th of April.
Liz Kerrins (Early Childhood Ireland) addressed the role of early years educators in the establishment of partnerships with parents in early learning and development. You can find her presentation here.
Clara Barata (University of Coimbra), Catarina Castro (ISCTE-IUL) and Carla Colaço (CB & JA, Research and Scientific Consulting) presented on how community-based programmes, with a focus on parent engagement, can be monitored and evaluated. You can find this presentation here.
Catarina Leitao (CDI) presented the main findings of the evaluation of Powerful Parenting, a parenting support model developed by CDI. You can find her presentation here.
Nóirín Hayes (Trinity College Dublin) conducted a reflection on the themes addressed, highlighting the importance of defined roles for early years practitioners and research on parent engagement.
The conference was chaired by John-Paul Byrne (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland).
