Invitation to Tender for Fundraising and CSR

CDI is funded under the Government’s Area Based Childhood Programme (ABC), which builds on the learning to date from the Prevention and Early Intervention Programmes (PEIP). The initiative aims to break the cycle of child poverty in areas where it is most deeply entrenched and to improve the outcomes for children and young people where these are currently significantly poorer than they are for children and young people living elsewhere in the Irish State.

Based in Tallaght West, CDI was initially established through a partnership between the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) and The Atlantic Philanthropies (AP), under the PEIP, which was set up with “the objective of testing innovative ways of delivering services and early interventions for children and young people, including the wider family and community settings,” (DCYA, 2011).Through innovative partnerships, CDI brings together the science of evidenced-based practice and rigorous evaluation, with the spirit of an approach focused on the identified needs of children and families. 

We design, deliver and evaluated a suite of programmes across a spectrum of local needs including language, literacy, health, early years, conflict management and community safety.  All CDI programmes are evidence-informed and manualised, and are delivered through existing structures and services.

In February, 2019, CDI introduced Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) to Ireland for the first time. Registration opened for any child under the age of five living in Dublin 24, and since that time, we have registered over 4,700 children to the Imagination Library. This brings free books to children’s homes as well as connecting parents to local services and resources which help them to support their child’s development.

DPIL doesn’t cover the costs of the books, postage or packing. An Post is currently supporting the postage and packing costs.

The successful bidder will:-

• Develop a corporate pack on DPIL, which highlights the benefits of the initiative and offers a variety of ways in which companies can support the programme in Dublin 24;
• Identify 10-15 key companies in the area, initiate engagement with them and build opportunities for corporate support of DPIL;
• Support a group of local parents to establish a fundraising committee and provide some initial guidance on their activities;
• Work with Shamrock Rovers to maximise the fundraising capacity of a partnership with CDI;
• Provide CDI with guidance, resources and plans to inform further fundraising for DPIL.

This work should commence by the end of October and be completed by Christmas 2019.

The successful bidder will demonstrate:-

• A proven track record in the planning and delivery of fundraising campaigns;
• Expertise in engaging and developing partnerships with the corporate sector;
• Excellent communication skills

Successful bidders must have a current tax clearance certificate.

In addition, the following intellectual property clause will stand:

Any Intellectual Property (IP) developed, acquired, made or discovered by you during the Term of the Agreement, which arises in the provision of the Services in connection with or in any way affecting or relating to the business of CDI shall belong to and be the absolute property of CDI (the ‘CDI IP’). You hereby assign to CDI the CDI IP for their full term throughout the world. CDI hereby grant a royalty free, non-transferable, non exclusive licence to you to utilise the CDI IP subject to the necessary protections which may arise under relevant legislation, including Data Protection Legislation.  In addition, the parties hereby agree to grant upon request a royalty free, non-transferable, non exclusive licence to The Department of Children and Youth Affairs and its agents to utilise the CDI IP subject to the necessary protections which may arise under relevant legislation, including Data Protection Legislation.’
